About the role
Our Project Manager is the person who makes sure the beautiful work we design actually gets built — on time, on budget, and with the relationships intact. You are the operational owner of three to four concurrent projects. You run schedules, budgets, construction administration, vendor coordination, and client communications in lockstep with the design team.
This is a role for someone who finds real satisfaction in running complex construction work and who can hold the through-line across a 14-month project without dropping a thread. You will work closely with general contractors, expeditors, architects, and our FF&E team.
What you’ll do
- Own schedules, budgets, and risk tracking across 3 – 4 concurrent residential projects
- Manage construction administration: RFIs, submittals, change orders, site walks, OAC meetings
- Coordinate directly with general contractors, expeditors, and specialty trades
- Track purchase orders, lead times, and expediting against install dates
- Partner with design leads on scope, fee, and additional services conversations
- Maintain client-facing project updates, billing cadence, and contract compliance
- Lead installs: coordinate movers, receivers, installers, and the day-of choreography
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of project management experience in residential design, architecture, or high-end construction
- Deep familiarity with construction sequencing, building science, and the residential permit process
- Fluency with project management software (Asana, Monday, or similar) and budget tracking
- Exceptional organization, written communication, and calm under pressure
Nice to have
- Experience with Studio Designer or Ivy for project accounting
- Background in construction management or GC-side project management
- Familiarity with Santa Barbara County and City of Santa Barbara permitting
A studio designed for the long run.
Competitive compensation, full health & wellness coverage, 401(k) with match, generous time off, a $2,500 annual learning stipend, and a beautiful place to work a block from the Pacific.
