About the role

As a Senior Interior Designer at Cerro Studio, you are the project's design owner. You translate a client's goals into a clear design language, develop that language through schematics and design development, and carry it through construction administration and install — without losing the thread.

You will run your projects with autonomy and accountability. You will collaborate closely with our architects, builders, and trades. You will mentor the designers and junior designers assigned to your projects. You will see your work built.

What you’ll do

  • Own two to three active projects end-to-end: schematic design, design development, construction documents, FF&E, construction administration, install
  • Conduct client presentations and manage the creative relationship at every phase
  • Coordinate directly with architects, general contractors, landscape designers, and specialty trades
  • Develop detailed, buildable construction drawings and specification packages
  • Source and curate materials, finishes, furnishings, lighting, and art appropriate to each project's voice
  • Mentor and direct the work of designers and junior designers on your projects
  • Attend site walks, OAC meetings, and installations

What we’re looking for

  • 6+ years of residential interior design experience at a high-end firm
  • Demonstrated ability to run a project start-to-finish with minimal oversight
  • Strong documentation skills: fluent in AutoCAD and/or Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent client communication — polished, warm, and genuinely curious
  • A refined sense of proportion, material, and detail
  • Bachelor's degree in interior design or architecture

Nice to have

  • Experience with estate-scale renovations or ground-up new builds over $3M construction budget
  • Familiarity with Studio Designer or Design Manager for project accounting
  • NCIDQ certification or active progress toward it
What we offer

A studio designed for the long run.

Competitive compensation, full health & wellness coverage, 401(k) with match, generous time off, a $2,500 annual learning stipend, and a beautiful place to work a block from the Pacific.
