A multigenerational family house on a ridge above the Pacific — asked to feel weathered on the day it opened.

Our clients had lived in the house for twelve years when the decision came to rebuild. They wanted nothing of the old floor plan and everything of its feeling: the long low light, the eucalyptus, the sense that the ocean was always just out of view.

We worked alongside Wright Ryan Architecture for twenty-two months, from schematics to the final placement of the last ceramic bowl. The result is a house that feels older than it is — grounded, tactile, and built from a palette chosen to age well under our salt air.
